Canopy Construction
* Home All canopies and storm porches supplied by Cottage Door Canopies are traditionally hand made in the British Isles by craftsmen using European Redwood.

All canopies on this site have been pressure treated.

The canopies are suppplied in part assembled kit form comprising.

  • 2 gallows brackets
  • 1 main back frame
  • 1 main face frame
  • 2 roofing boards
  • front beading

This dimension can be reduced by up to 100mm
Height - 1090mm
Depth - 610mm

Finial, where fitted adds 320mm to height.

All frames are pressure treated with preservative ready to be finished in the wood stain or painted finish of your choice. Ideally the canopy should be tiled to match the roofing materials of your home, however they can be finished with tile, lead or roofing felt.

The canopies are very easy to assemble and come with full assembly and fitting instructions. We advise that suitable screws and fixings are chosen with regard to the weight of the roofing finish that you choose.

Shipping weight of a typical canopy is 28kg. To avoid personal injury we strongly advise that these items should be considered a two person lift when taking delivery and installing.

Step 3 - install the front main frame
Step 4 - install the roofing boards
Step 5 - apply the front beading. The canopy is now ready for you to finish with your choice of roofing.
